So far....

Friends gave me two old laptops (both about 10 years old) they didn’t need anymore. Windows was installed on both of those laptops, but did not work anznore. I installed Debian on both of them. One of them, an old amilo Pi from Fujitsu-Siemens worked fine in the begin, but got too hot after a while and crashed regularly. I almost declared it dead. For the other one, a Samsung, I found additional RAM and installed it together with a new battery. I reduced the frequency of the processor with CPUfreq. In this way I got at least one of those laptops working, not perfectly but I could manage. One of the downsides of this laptop is thou that the screen is not too big.
